    About this course

    The Pitman Training Network+ course is designed to give you all the knowledge and skills you need to get a job as a Network or System Administrator. But more importantly, it will give you the necessary skills and knowledge you need to gain a Network+ certification which is ranked as one of the most in-demand networking skills.

    You’ll learn how to install, operate and configure basic network infrastructures, together with all the essential skills you’ll need to manage and maintain systems and troubleshoot any problems on a day to day basis. What’s more, as speaking the right IT language is essential in this industry; you’ll learn how to describe networking technologies, together with gaining a basic understanding of design principles.

    Within the framework of the Network+ Certification course, you’ll learn so much more than just the theory. This course is designed to get you ready for the real-world and help you launch or enhance a career as a network or system administrator.

    There are five sessions in this course covering: – 

    Session 1: Introduction, Networking Models, Applications and Devices, IPv4 Overview and Addressing, IPv6 Overview and Addressing, Switching Protocols, Routing Protocols.

    Session 2: Networking Protocols, Name Resolution, Virtual Desktops, Media and Connectors, WAN Solutions, 802 Standards, Planning a Small Network.

    Session 3: Installing Routers, Installing Switches, Installing a Wireless Network, Understanding Network Appliances, Configuration Documentation, Network Performance, Network Monitoring.

    Session 4: Troubleshooting Methodology, Troubleshooting Switches, Troubleshooting Routers, Troubleshooting Media, Troubleshooting Wireless, Troubleshooting Software, Using Protocol Analysers.

    Session 5: Security Concepts, Security Threats, Security Authentication, Installing Firewalls, Network Level Security, Wireless Security, Security Appliances, Game Over.
